Texas Workers’ Compensation Reform Secures Relief for UPS
In the 2005 Texas Legislative Session, the Texas Legislature passed a comprehensive workers’ compensation reform bill that will result in significant savings to UPS. The new law allows injured workers to receive benefits of up to 70 percent of their salary, while employers may create health care networks to treat injured workers and negotiate with insurance companies on costs and coverage.
This legislation is designed to allow injured workers access to the best care by licensed medical professionals, allowing workers to return to work more quickly and to lower costs for UPS.
